Yesterday I received a package in the mail with a sample product of gel pads that contain milk proteins derived from non-fat cow's milk, stated to be perfectly safe for mom and baby. Said proteins are purported to be anti-inflammatory and supposed to promote healing of sore nipples. How can cow's milk whey and casein proteins ever be safe for babies? I was/am totally flabbergasted. These are available at Target stores and developed, according to the letter accompanying said product, by two doctors. Oh, and also included were samples of nipple butter with milk proteins, as well. Customer Care can be reached at [log in to unmask] (mailto:[log in to unmask]) where product questions can be asked...yikes. Thoughts? Anyone else receive these, for I'm sure since it was addressed Dear Lactation Consultant that if you haven't you will.
