After reading the other posts on this topic, am I way off base here? Has something changed that I missed? Is cocaine not as harmful to the baby as I have learned? This is not about judging the mother, this is about the safety of the baby. I agree that the ideal scenario is that mom stops using and the baby goes on to exclusively breastfeed. But that only happens in a highly motivated mother who is routinely monitored. Where I live it's very difficult to get into a drug rehab program. What is going on in other areas of the country/world in these circumstances? Please share.
