I am sick of the waste too. I picture big garbage dumps full of breastspumps some of which were barely used. But I think the bigger picture is "what are we doing with all these pumps anyway?" How did I manage to breastfeed 3 children for 2 years or more without a pump? I worked part-time here and there...I nursed before I went somewhere (if I couldn't take my baby) and then nursed when I came back home....nobody died of starvation while I was gone! Most moms don't go out for more than 2-3 hrs anyway. Pumping is highly over-rated and over-used in the US. Stock-piling milk in the freezer that mostly ends up being thrown out. I say to my client's "Where are you going to dinner...in Alaska?" I point out "look at all the time that takes you away from your baby, your family, your friends" Moms that truely have to pump would kill to just breastfeed.

Crazy with all this (unnecessary)pumping
