I have tried to google formic stearic and I can only find formic acid and stearic acid. Was my source wrong when he said miteaway 2 pads contained "stearic formic acid at 65%" or is the formula used contain both? What effect does the stearic acid (if used) have on varroa control *and* has stearic acid been researched alone as a varroa control? Medhat? Allen? Is there a product sold named stearic formic acid? The subject came up on another beekeeping list I read but rarely post ( time concerns) when a beekeeper said he reused miteaway 2 pads by soaking in formic acid. Another beekeepers then said using formic alone would not be the same as the original miteaway 2 formula as the original pad contained * formic stearic acid*. bob *********************************************** The BEE-L mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software.
