The CDC team that developed this EXCELLENT portal has already been alerted about the bottle-feeding image. Please don't flood the CDC folks with MORE complaints about that image right now - give them time to make the change. As the announcement stated, do send positive feedback about aspects of the portal that you think are worthy of being complimented, and constructive comments on other aspects of the site. This is a new venture for CDC, and everyone appreciates a pat on the back for a job well done. Personally, I have been VERY positively impressed with - and very thankful for - the CDC's work and research on breastfeeding and parenting (and other topics) for the past several years. My tax dollars are being well-spent by this agency's staff. Linda J. It is from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the United States Government. They have lots of new ways to reach out to this new generation (see http://www.cdc.gov/socialmedia/) - and we could take note of some of their methods to expand our own way of serving Generations X, Y, Z and >>>>> Jeanette Panchula ________________________________________________ Dear Federal Partners Workgroup Members, We wanted to let you know about a new resource the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has available for parents. We are proud to announce that the CDC has created a Parent Portal (www.cdc.gov/parents) to help parents find information to give children healthier, safer lives. The CDC Parent Portal organizes and presents information for parents and provides resources from across CDC, all in one location, making it easier for parents to find what they are looking for. The Portal is a great source for credible, accurate information in helping parents raising healthy kids and providing a safe home and community. It also is a resource for diseases and conditions that can occur, and for developmental milestones and schedules. The Parent Portal also provides information on physical activity, diet, physical and mental health, injuries and violence, peer relationships, and a special section on risk behaviors geared for the parents of teens. We hope you will share this information within your organization and with your constituents. To place a button on your website to help raise awareness of the CDC Parent Portal, visit http://www.cdc.gov/socialmedia/. Even though the site is now live, we view the development of the Portal as an iterative process. We continue to welcome feedback and suggestions from those like you who truly know best about how to make this Portal the most useful product. Thank you for your time, The Parent Portal Team and Lara Robinson, CDC Healthy Parenting Fellow *********************************************** Archives: http://community.lsoft.com/archives/LACTNET.html To reach list owners: [log in to unmask] Mail all list management commands to: [log in to unmask] COMMANDS: 1.
