Subject: PKU

I saw the recent posts regarding PKU and the discussions that followed. I wanted to share with anyone interested the following information. In our community we have been blessed to have a wonderful, knowledgable mother of 3 breastfed children (one who has PKU). This mother is also a vetenarian for horses (who also knows a lot about using domperidone for horses). Her name is K.C. Ferrazano - Singletary. At our state meeting she gave a wonderful presentation teaching us in great detail about her experience in breastfeeding her child who has PKU. K.C. is now considered so knowledgable in this area that she also teaches classes at the medical school to the dietitians who primarily work with guiding the nutrition program for these children. K.C. also tries to encourage the families by showing them the successful ways she has even taught her child to be aware of what he can eat - even has a special pantry shelf for his foods - so he can make choices.

I did get her permission to share her contact information: e-mail is the best way to reach her. <[log in to unmask]>
