First Prize: $4,000 and NYC performance opportunity
Second Prize: $2,000
Third Prize: $1,000

Open to pianists worldwide, ages 35 and under, as of September 6, 2008

RECORDED ROUND DEADLINE:: APRIL 1
Contestants will submit on CD or DVD recordings of selected movements
from the standard repertoire, including a major keyboard work
representing each of the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.
LIVE FINAL ROUND:: September 5
Neighborhood Music School, New Haven, Connecticut
Contestants invited to the Live Round should be prepared to play
selections from their recorded submission and from three Hugo Kauder
Solo Works of their choice: one Sonata (1, 2, 3, or 4), the Toccata
in E (1952 Revision), and any Prelude and Fugue. Competition judges
will be Claude Frank, Yale School of Music and Curtis Institute of
Music; Pamela Frank, Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins
University and Stony Brook; and Peter Frankl, Yale School of Music.
WINNER'S CONCERT:: September 6
Winners will perform at Firehouse 12 in New Haven, Connecticut
