Ed Zubrow quoted Chekhov:

>> ... of others each particular work represents nothing
>> outstanding; but, for all that, taken as a whole they are
>> distinct and brilliant."

Donald Clarke responded:

> Now, here's a game. Myaskovsky? Pettersson? Petrassi?

Pettersson seems an inspired choice. Each symphony is but a contribution
to what amounts to a glorious unequalled cosmic qvetch. Someone else
suggested Conlon Nancarrow- also a good fit.
