Janos Gereben asks:

> Can you remember the first piece of classical music that inspired you?

Easy one. As a youngster, I was wowed by the Shostakovich 1st Symphony
followed by his 9th and the Vaughan Williams 9th as well.

As an adult, the Bach organ works set by Lionel Rogg was my gateway into
the magic of this body of music.. Prior to Rogg, I couldn't seem to get
a decent handle on it. Subsequent to Rogg, I listened to nothing but
Bach organ music for a couple of years.
