Laurie, I agree with you about the sns but I have been told that if we use a made up type of sns, that we could be liable if someone gets hurt because we are not using the product as intended. Bottle supplementation is the norm in my facility. I have and use the Medela starter SNS units, however I just don't like the way the valve doesn't easily snap down, and it just does not seem a quick and easy device to use. The larger units, SNS or Lactaid, are not well received in our population, due to cost. I know about and have used the "home made" supplementer with a #5 French tube threaded through a bottle/nipple. However I only have the short tubes which make it difficult. I am looking into seeing if I can get the 36 inch ones. Any suggestions about how you all are using these.
