I too did the BRU thing this past weekend and it was very successful for me, and for $200 I also could not complain. This BRU had tables and chairs set up w/balloons (no bottles) and both the seminar manager and the store manager came over to talk to me. I did NOT have to use the script, they both said teach the seminar however I wanted to. So I did! I gave my talk and then opened it up for Q&A, at each seminar I had 10-15 moms and dads. They all would ask questions and many came to my table and asked more questions, picked up my magnets and brouchures and said they'd be calling me. I had a steady stream of people stopping at my table between seminars as well. There was a Enfamil rep at the other end of the aisle, I surreptiously watched how much traffic she got with her dumb teddy bears and coupons and sign-up sheet. I don't tink it was as many as I had! The store manager asked if I would be interested in giving a breastfeeding class at their store once a month, I can teach it however I want and bring my business information. I said yes, as I believe this is a golden opportunity to cash in on free advertising. I cannot believe the numbers of mothers and fathers who shop at these types of stores (buying gobs of stuff they don't really need...but that's another topic and another post!). Anyway, I just wanted to add my two cents, in case anyone is interested in doing this next year.
