I harvested honey this past weekend, and noticed that it has an unusual
flavor. Most years, the honey has a "fruity" flavor, but this year it
tastes distinctly of mint. Quite nice, but different. There are mint
plants nearby (there is a boggy area with a lot of wild mint within a
few hundred feet of the hives), and we have had a dry summer, so it is
quite possible that only the plants in the bog (such as mint) have
enough moisture available to produce nectar.

My question is whether honey made from mint plants actually tastes
minty, or whether the flavor is from some other source? I am in the
upper peninsula of Michigan, near Lake Superior.
