Roy Ellefsen asks about the Portuguese composer Jose Manuel Joly Braga
Santos. AS far as I can discern, not being familiar with the language,
the correct pronunciation is something like joe-ZAY man-WELL ZHOE-lee
BRAH-gah SAHN-toosh.

Well, having gotten through that, his Crossroads ballet is very pleasant
easy listening. As Richard says, his 3rd symphony is very good, probably
my favorite of his six symphonies. (Which were written during a relatively
brief period in the tewnties.) And at least five CDs of his music should
still be available on Marco Polo, including all the symphonies. He's a
bit of a cult figure, buyt a fine composer who rewards your listening.
