Some of the bees enter in upside down which would leave a stripe un the 
under side,

Well, I'm glad the riddle has been solved. Now if only I can stop myself 
from spending too much time looking for "understripers."  :-)  Next time 
I'm at the VBA workshop yard in Burlington, where Pale Jewelweed grows, 
I'll check to see if that is the source of the yellow stripers. Would figure.
