Dear Friends: I've been working for a long time with dyads, both as a lactation consultant and as a nurse. I've noticed an increase in the numbers of exclusively breastfed babies with reflux and with other GI problems. I never saw a baby with reflux when I started; now it seems as though every 3rd or 4th baby I see or hear about has it. Some very severely too, enough to be very ill. This year so far I have worked with 3 babies, exclusively breastfed, that are unable to poop without pain and effort. My own two daughters, one bfd for 3+ years and the other for 5.5, both have GI motility problems that have been tracing to mercury toxicity and environmental sensitivities. Has anyone else noticed this? warmly, Nikki Lee RN, MS, Mother of 2, IBCLC, CCE Adjunct Faculty, Union Institute and University, Lactation Program Film Reviews Editor, Journal of Human Lactation *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(R) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
