Ann This question has been talked about back and forth alot. In my experience, the babies with the greater wt losses have feeding issues and I do not note a correlation with fluids in the moms. I believe there was one study which looked at that and found no correlation with fluids in the moms. There could be a connection between a long, difficult labor and then subsequent *feeding* issues and their could be a correlation between induction of labor and *feeding* issues, maybe the baby was induced due to maternal illness or maybe the baby was born preterm or with breathing issues. Breathing impacts feeding and so on. Laurie Wheeler, IBCLC, MN, RN s.e.
