The Grapes of Wrath is also what leapt to my mind in terms of changing attitudes about BFing in America. I think it is especially telling that this exquisite scene is left out of the 1939 (or 1940 I can't remember) film version, showing how much things had changed after the Hayes Act and the installation of Hollywood censors. It also goes right to Kerry Ose's point about the complex relationship between breastfeeding, sexuality and the breast. I've been told my last post (re we all ...Pit} was full of 20's and = signs and I do apologize and am quite mortified. I'm not sure why it happened, but sometimes I think my computer needs some APNO. If this post is also messed up, could somebody let me know. I realize it's kind of like telling someone they have spinach on their teeth, but I really want to know! Thanks in advance.
