I don't know of any research in this area, but anecdotally, we find that many women who needed medical/fertility help in getting pregnant have milk supply problems. The lactation dept at one of our hospitals with a big fertility practice nearby sees many such cases. I have also had a few fertility treatment women in my WIC practice and have found they tend to have low milk supplies. Not everyone but many if not most. And having a premature baby may skew things to the low side since she is pumping -- meaning the women I help in WIC.
