I heard this idea in a presentation about the focus groups conducted in
three U.S. cities before the 2004-2005 Ad Council media campaign for
breastfeeding. Parents and families in the groups interpreted the "Breast is
Best" message to mean, "Formula is normal, and if you breastfeed, it's
giving the baby something extra, like taking a vitamin pill to enrich your
diet, or paying to send your kid to extra lessons in addition to schoool."
