ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions. ***************************************************************************** I'd say where the definition Lou's group had up runs into trouble is the "everything" part. For example, science cannot explain nor investigate why the Pittsburgh Steelers are the greatest team ever --- yet I know this to be true! I suspect another reason this is tough is that it relies on previous knowledge... For example, how do you define the "natural" world. To a 7 year old, a building or a computer probably don't seem "natural", yet science studies and explains those things. What was it someone once said? "I can't define it, but I know it when I see it." ;) Jonah Cohen Outreach & Public Programs Manager Science Center of Connecticut "On blind faith they place reliance, what we need more of is science" -MC Hawking -----Original Message----- From: Lou Papai [mailto:[log in to unmask]] Sent: Monday, April 17, 2006 10:17 AM Here's what we had up: A branch of knowledge or study that investigates and explains everything in our universe. *********************************************************************** More information about the Informal Science Education Network and the Association of Science-Technology Centers may be found at http://www.astc.org.
