Sankofa Theatre Presents Violinist Quinton Morris in April 1 Benefit Concert at Seattle University Seattle's Sankofa Theatre will present a special benefit concert featuring violin soloist Quinton Morris on Saturday, April 1 - 5:00 PM at the Vachon Room, located in the Fine Arts Building (901 12th Avenue) on the campus of Seattle University in Seattle, Washington. This concert is presented in honor of the Sankofa Theatre and their associated organization, the W.E.B. DuBois Memorial Centre for Pan-African Culture in Accra, Ghana. The recital will feature classic works by Beethoven and Afro-French composer Le Chavalier de Saint-Georges, as well as a Suite for Violin and Piano by Afro-American composer William Grant Still, accompanied by Seattle dancer Vania Bynam. Donation for the April 1 concert is $40 to benefit programs and activities presented by Sankofa Theatre and the DuBois Center. A graduate of North Carolina School of the Arts, and the Boston Conservatory, Mr. Morris is currently a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate at the University of Texas at Austin. He has performed throughout the U.S., Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and is the recipient of numerous competition awards, including the Seattle Philharmonic Concerto Competition.
