Hi Pam, This is a really common misunderstanding! I've been asked about it many times because of my interest in relactation. What the research referred to measured was the amount of milk consumed by the babies and they found that what the babies drank did not increase between 1-6 months and then it decreased with the introduction of other foods. They did not measure production potential and of course it is possible to increase milk supply if demand is increase *at any time* Karleen Gribble Australia Why is it that we have now decided that what a mother makes is a > constant unchangeable amount? And, in terms of exact numbers is that even > what the research showed?
