I just returned from a rather lengthy City of Chandler (AZ) Council Meeting where, after 90 minutes of citizen speeches were heard from both sides of the issue, The City Council unanimously passed the legislation allowing mothers to breastfeed their babies anywhere the mothers and babies had a right to be. A second vote was taken to forward this to the State Legislature to eventually pass a similar state-wide law, and that also passed unanimously. Yippie!!! BTW one of the few people who had the 'nads to speak against the topic, despite obviously being outnumbered, was an elderly woman who stated that she couldn't breastfeed because she had twins...hence the myths continue on. Hopefully her credibility was completely dashed when she said, "That's fine that they breastfeed, I just want them to go somewhere else to do it." And where would that be?? I guess we're supposed to click our Birkenstocks together three times and say, "There's no place like Chandler, there's no place like Chandler there's no place like Chandler."
