My TBH is hemi-cylindrical and I get very little comb attachment to the side
wall; sometimes the first couple of inches on a newly drawn comb but once
this has been cut with a hive tool they don't re-attach.

I draw a bead of wax down the centre line of the bars using a lump of wax
and a soldering iron and they generally follow this start. Sometimes they stray
off course but the alignment can be adjusted with gentle pressure from a hive
tool. When comb has been removed then an imprint of the previous start or
an 8th of an inch left is enough to get them to make fresh combs on the
straight and narrow.
