>I also love "It's OK to look" as a tag line for a breastfeeding >campaign (from my US perspective). It could be accompanied by >beautiful pictures of mothers and babies breastfeeding, and include >some clever copy like "look at how many ways it protects baby and >mother . . . look at how much money is saved . . ." etc. I may have mentioned this before on this list, but my LLL group did a promotion for WBW several years ago that actually encouraged people to look, stare and even study the nursing women in the pictures to see if they could see anything! We set up our display at the mall, offering a draw prize for one of the correct answers to "Which woman in the picture is NOT breastfeeding?" Each picture portrayed the mother in a normal situation: at the park, sitting at a computer, in the mall, etc. You couldn't tell if she was cuddling the baby or nursing, so it was a great chance for people to get right up close and check for themselves! While they were checking the pictures, we had a captive audience! We'd talk about how there were nursing mothers all over the place, you just didn't notice. Or give information about La Leche League, or breastfeeding in general, or listen to what they had to tell us about their experiences with breastfeeding. This was followed up with a full-page article in our local newspaper where the pictures were reprinted for all to see, and the winner announced, accompanied by a blurb about the importance of breastfeeding.
