I wish it read like this: La Leche League International and the Section on Breastfeeding of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the African American Breastfeeding Alliance, Inc., as well as many other experts on breastfeeding, stand ready to assist you in your efforts to promote, protect and support breastfeeding and the use of human milk. AABA is doing a lot of work with this situation and is doing a lot of work in the breastfeeding world period. If you are a lactation professional of "color" please get involved in some way. I just started a yahoo group - Breastfeeding support and advocacy for "women of color" called mochamilk. Not to exclude anyone, but to bring together those of us scattered across the US and the globe that have a passion for raising breastfeeding rates among brown skinned people. As we all know, there aren't many black, brown, etc lactation professionals. I hope mochamilk along with AABA, peer counseling programs and other efforts will change that. thanks, micky *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(R) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
