I have been told by a wax worm breeder (for fish bait) That he uses cornmeal or some other type of protein base if I remember right and beeswax grated and mixed in. I was told that he actually did not have to have beeswax but the wax worms seem to do better on it. A substitute in this case for beeswax was glycerin. That did not make any sense to me so I asked him why. He said the the beeswax was necessary because the worms somehow derived moisture from it. Thats how it was explained to him from a scientist. He said glycerin worked just as well but depended on what the going rate for each was. Robert -- Visit www.honeybeeworld.com/bee-l for rules, FAQ and other info ---
