I am shocked and saddened. I just cannot believe we are so selfish as a culture. Well, okay, so it's not so shocking but just when you think people are starting to get it.... It's just so obvious what this is. Who is truely fighting for the right to make this decision? This is not like the right to vote or go to work after having a baby? What they are saying is: We know all those boob fanatics are forcing breastfeeding down your throat so we have to help you feel like you can stand up to them. Ridiculous!! This "initiative" is not going to make more women feel like they are free to make the choice to breastfeed. I mean, why doesn't Liz make some cute nursing clothes and sell them? Why doesn't she give $$ to LLL or the World Health Org.? I am very curious as to who the speakers are at these events. Probably not IBCLCs or anyone else promoting breastfeeding. I am sure there will be formula samples. Anyone live near one of the events want to call and ask who the speakers are? What is the research they speak of that says "when you are relaxed and comfortable your baby benefits"? I mean, isn't that just common sense? Okay, I am going to start feeding my infants homemade formula made of tartar sauce and water. I mean, it's my choice and what I am most comfortable with is what matters, right? And shame on Avent, Boppy and Zero to Three for buying into such nonsense. This is a very sad sad thing. Any ideas as to practical things we can do to thwart their "campaign".
