Barbara just wrote a note of thanks for the Breastfeeding Atlas. I too have a copy (old and new versions!) in house and use the photo's of the breastfeeding diaper stools in my class because sometimes mothers have never seen a breastfed babies dirty diaper - and especially in this case, a picture speaks a hundred words! I also use the photo's of the nipple shield, to show how good you can latch even when using a one.

Today we had an evaluation of our lactation consultant course here in The Netherlands. For this course the Atlas is on the recommended list rather that the obligatory reading list. An interesting note for the Atlas authors was that almost everyone had purchased the Atlas and came with the strong suggestion that it be put on the obligatory list. I'll second this, as it contains some essential points that aren't all too easy to find other books. The links to photo's makes it a very good learning tool.

So, if you don't have a copy, then your breastfeeding bookcase is not yet full with the essentials!!

ps I have no financial interest in the Atlas ;-)
