These companies know who's pregnant from stores' gift registries. A woman who registers for her baby shower at Babies'R'Us or wherever enters her name, due date,"feeding preference" etc, then reaches the screen with the fine print that she probably doesn't read but just clicks that she "accepts" the "conditions"...That fine print includes her info being given to different companies whose products may interest her...or some innocent words like that. Even the self-service digital newborn photography kiosk at your local BFH may include that in their fine print that new parents don't read. And the manufacturers coupons that are automatically generated (for next time) at the grocery store checkout (based on what you just purchased)... prints out a coupon for formula if you just bought nursing pads!!!! >Problem with that, was I NEVER filled out or contacted that >company in any way, so somehow the word gets out. Whether someone >thought they >were doing me a favor, or my Dr. sold my name...whatever. >It is an >uphill >battle girls, those companies KNOW who's pg and who ? >isn't...and they >trget them BIG time. *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(R) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
