I have been contacted by a colleague and have been given permission to
post. Baby is just over 1 year old and has been exclusively breastfed.
The problem (as told to me)is that this child will not easily accept any
solid foods. She still nurses through the night. Will accept neither
bottles nor 'sippy cups.' Mom does not necessarily want to wean but would
like to get a bit of a break! The parents have tried many things- feeding
when mom is not around, diluting cereal with breastmilk, letting the child
play with the food and feed herself, they even put pureed food on mom's
breast! Dad thinks it is a texture issue rather than taste. This baby is
growing and meeting all appropriate milestones. The advice to wean
completely has been offered but I'd hate to see this mom wean just because
the child won't accept solid food! Any other suggestions?

Thanks
Debbie
