Ross Products just issued its Breastfeeding Trends report for 2003. Looks
like formula companies, employers, and our culture in general are walking to
the bank on the backs of babies and mothers.

Any breastfeeding at all was 66%: down from 70.1% in 2002
Exclusive breastfeeding in hospital was 44%: down from 46.1% in 2002

Supplementation rates of 22% spells dollar signs for the infant formula
industry. Do almost a quarter of breastfed infants in the US need to be
supplemented? What a dismal state of affairs.
