In essence, the drone is a clone (sometimes called a pseudoclone) of the queen. So, yes, if the queen is hybrid, the drone will also be a hybrid. What the book most likely meant was that if Queen X mates with Drone Y, the drone offspring would not be a hybrid of X and Y as the worker offspring would be, but rather would be X.
