Miriam Labbock from Unicef asked that the following response from Israel's Ministry of Health with regards the Israeli NGO IsraAID's use of infant formula in Sri Lanka be sent to Lactnet. "Dear Miriam, Thank you for your letter and for the information. Needless to say that this Israeli group has not been working in accordance with our guidelines. I assume that it is one of the NGOs that has been working in the field. As a matter of fact, the formal Ministry of Health medical group that was supposed to get to Sri Lanka had been refused and most of its members went back home. Later on, a group of specialists in mental health was sent to this region. Of course, we do encourage breastfeeding and if we were permitted to work in the area we would have done relactation. We have nothing to do with these actions." *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(R) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
