Hi Jennifer, our local WIC administrator put me on to these resources, all from washington state's healthy mothers, healthy babies coalition: (though I notice the coordinator of the foreign language flyers is named Jennifer - did I just refer you to yourself??) This is a WIC flyer describing WIC services: http://www.hmhbwa.org/forprof/materials/documents/Somali.FINAL.pdf This page offers their Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies book in Somali http://www.hmhbwa.org/ourservices/prenatal.htm and this page allows you to order some of their materials in Somali: http://www.hmhbwa.org/forprof/materials/requestform.php But as I understand from our local WIC administrator, many of these women are unable to read their language, so our problem is not necessarily with a lack of materials, but a lack of moms who can read them or translators to read them to the moms. To my 100% uninformed eye, Somali looks a little phoenetic - so maybe someone could stumble through reading it to them?? I am in Burlington Vermont, where we have just had an influx of somali moms and young kids, so maybe contacting our WIC office directly would get you the information you need. You can find contact info here: http://www.healthyvermonters.com/cph/local/burlington.shtml Hope this helps... and good luck!
