<<Our role, IMHO, is to inform, teach, educate and SUPPORT mothers to make the > best possible choices that make sense in their particular context, > based on > what real research exists at the time the decisions are being made. >> exactly. for many, that means knowing what the literature shows. i changed *how* i coslept with my second b/c of the evidence. i keep my kids in carseats and boosters for a long long time b/c of the evidence. i nurse for a long long long time b/c of the evidence. without the evidence, I wouldn't have done any of those things. I really really don't like nursing. I'd really like to snuggle with my baby under a down comforter. and carseats over the long haul are a hassle. when there's clear evidence though, that something is risky, I make choices make things as safe as they can be. for me, it's not about a scare tactic. it's about sound evidence, logic and choices. katheirne in atl *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(R) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
