I don't have it with me, but the latest Mothering magazine has an article about using marijuana during pregnancy for severe morning sickness. There are several references quoted following the article about the studies done showing no conclusive correlation between THC exposure during pregnancy and any subsequent effect on the child. These may be helpful to take to the hospital that is threatening to prohibit this poor mom from breastfeeding. Since transmission would presumably be higher during pregnancy than during breastfeeding, these articles should be relevant. If the mom does have a drug problem - wouldn't the parenting techniques that arise from breastfeeding and skin to skin contact be better than being able to pass the baby off with a bottle?? JMO.
