I got an email forward from our hospital social worker from MedWAatch stating that neonates exposed to Effexor and other SNRI's have developed complications requiring prolonged hospitalizations, respiratory support and tube feedings. These codmplications arise immediately after delivery when then mom has taken these drugs during 3rd trimester. This info can be access at http://www.fda.gov/medwatch/SAFETY/2004/safetyo4.htm#effexor I tried LActnet achives with search words Effexor and MedWatch without sucess. If this has been previously discussed I apoligize. I am not able to stay current with the volume of Lactnet but would appreciate if anyone knows of this and NOW WHAT DO WE DO with all the depressed women we see!!! thanks from near Boise Id, sunny skies with late afternoon t-storms expected Betsy Ayers RN, BSN, IBCLC *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(R) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
