I have been thinking of this case, and wonder if someone in the hospital mentioned the possiblity of Sheehan's Syndrome to this mother. (This is a syndrome where the pituitary gland is damaged with significant blood loss and can severely impact supply.) Sheehans doesn't happen with every or *all* cases of blood loss, but even if someone mentioned it to her, or she read about it somewhere, it may have infected her confidence. You may want to ask her if this is the case, and assure her plenty of women with haemorrage have normal supplies. This may be an illustration of "a little knowlege is a dangerous thing" for this poor mother.
