I had very regular menses every 24 days but a late return. However, when they returned, they were regular almost immediately -- none of this six months of irregularity. I wonder if there is a correlation with early / late onset of first menstruation or with early / late onset of menopause? I had late onset of menstruation and early menopause. At menopause, my periods turned off after LAM plus two regular months. The shut-off valve must have worked well with me. I am quite sure there is a heredity component in fertility and reproductive history. Another thing I've noticed with my friends and my daughters is that more solidly-built women seem to have earlier onset of menstruation than the scrawny people on my side of the family. :-) Jo-Anne (Over-Sharing?
