In many states, early intervention evaluation is free and includes an OT evaluation. In NY, LCs can refer for an EI eval, as can the physician or the mother herself. Treatment is free in NY, and in many other states (some states have a cost sharing plan, I know Texas does, parents pay a percentage based on their income). The only downside of going through EI is that it can take a few weeks for the evaluation to be scheduled and services to start. -- Catherine Watson Genna, IBCLC New York City mailto:[log in to unmask] *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(R) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
