ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions. ***************************************************************************** The National Science Digital Library (http://nsdl.org <http://nsdl.org/> ) invites your participation in growing the capacity of its online question and answer service. This service, called AskNSDL, is developed in cooperation with the people at Syracuse University who created AskERIC. AskNSDL matches questions from students, teachers, and the general public about science, technology, and mathematics with experts from a variety of relevant fields. NSDL is currently engaged in a recruiting campaign to expand the base of experts who answer questions in preparation for Excellence in Science, Technology, and Mathematics Education (ESTME) Week. ESTME Week is co-sponsored by the National Science Foundation and the Department of Education as a celebration of science and technology during the week of March 15-20, 2004. AskNSDL will be featured as the "Ask a Scientist or Engineer" service for the NSF's ESTME Week website (www.estme.org <http://www.estme.org/> ) as well as at Equations '04, the March 16 ESTME Week exposition in Washington, D.C. "Experts" can sign up to answer questions related to specified areas of science, mathematics, or technology; educational materials and instructional practices in these disciplines; or about NSDL and other online resources. Educators, scientists, librarians, and other museum professionals others are encouraged to share their knowledge with the students and teachers who will be sending their inquiries during ESTME Week and beyond. It is easy to register as an expert and requires only as much time as you prefer to commit in responding to the questions that you choose to answer. To register, go to http://asknsdl.askvrd.org and click on the "experts" tab. Select "register as an expert" and follow the instructions. Please mention that you are affiliated with ASTC in the "Bio/Credentials" field. Please assist our recruiting efforts by sharing this call for experts with other appropriate colleagues and forwarding to other relevant listservs. Please contact me with any questions. Thanks in advance for your participation!
