Joshua Pierce Plays Britten, Milhaud and Richard Strauss with the Slovak Sinfonietta of Zilina - Performance on January 22 with Maestro Kirk Trevor Joshua Pierce will be guest soloist on January 22, 2004 with the Slovak Sinfonietta of Zilina, under the direction of Kirk Trevor, in performances of Benjamin Britten's "Young Apollo", Darius Milhaud's "Le Carnival d'Aix" (Fantasie for Piano and Orchestra) and Richard Strauss"s "Le Bourgeoise Gentihomme." These three works are also being recorded for CD release later this year. Joshua Pierce and Kirk Trevor have collaborated frequently in concert and in the recording studio, the most recent being the Kleos Classics release "For The Fun Of It All", with music of Addinsell, Chopin, Gershwin, Saint-Saens, Paul Turok, Weber-Liszt and Henri Litolff recorded with the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra of Bratislava. The Slovak Sinfonietta of Zilina is one of the best known professional orchestras in Eastern Europe and holds a very important position in Slovak musical culture.
