We LCs are in a unique position when we "mop up" after epidurals,
inductions, Cesareans and other overly-interventive births. WE CAN WRITE UP
WHAT WE'RE SEEING. Yes, I'm shouting for emphasis. 

 

Document what you see and observe. Send reports to the baby's primary care
provider and the mother's provider if they are different, and send a copy to
the mother. This can and should be done professionally and courteously, as
we do all our other reporting.
