Hello, Thanks so much for the responses! I talked to this mother at length about keeping the baby at the breast as much as possible. She had been finger feeding and is now syringe feeding at the breast. She is planning to talk to her doctor tommorow about getting a blood transfusion to bring her iron levels up. I am not fully convinced that this is the entire problem but it MAY be part of it. She has already seen an IBCLC to rule out latch problems. If a transfusion does not increase her supply and the baby's weight gain I am planning to refer her to another LC for a second opinion. As this is much more medical that I am comfortable with I am simply a support person for her:) Tracy DeMaddalena *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
