Dear Friends: I was impressed with all the investigations, reporting, offers of lactation help, finding out what happened etc. etc. in this Humana/Remedia formula disaster. In the USA, when there is a formula recall, the information about which particular lot numbers are involved in the recall is published in the media, along with a reason. Nothing else happens, at least that is published. There is no on-going investigation of the error, there is no recrimination by government agencies, there is no compensation offered to those who may have been harmed, and there is no offer of help to encourage women to continue to breastfeed. Boy do we in the States have a long way to go! warmly, Nikki Lee RN, MS, Mother of 2, IBCLC, CIMI, CCE, craniosacral therapy Adjunct faculty, Union Institute and University, Maternal and Child Health: Lactation Consulting Supporting the WHO Code and the Mother Friendly Childbirth Initiative *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
