>she might try one of the handsfree kits from medela if they still sell them or >rigging up some handsfree device to hook on her bra. No need for hooks (or for a lot of money). But a cheap, fairly snug sports bra, preferably one that zips up the front so you can put on/take off like a jacket. Costs around $10. Cut a hole over each nipple, starting small and enlarging it just enough to be able to slip the flange through. The snug fabric holds the flange smoothly in place, and the hole doesn't fray much over time even if left raw. One small-breasted mom felt she got even more milk this way because the well-distributed pressure kept her whole breast in continuous, even contact with the flange - something she'd had trouble doing on her own. -- Diane Wiessinger, MS, IBCLC Ithaca, NY www.wiessinger.baka.com *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
