I think this is a bit harsh. We don't know what else was going on in this
mother's life or the resources available to her. Of course she bears
responsibility, that no doubt played a big part in why she was upset, but
it's important to recognise that though nearly all women are physically
capable of breastfeeding, socio/cultural factors result in breastfeeding
"failure" for many women. Having the knowledge about breastfeeding that we
all have here (including where to go for good assistance) it can be easy to
forget how difficult it can be for women who are swimming upstream against
the flow in attempting to breastfeed.
