About the music:

The Gabrieli family made a close connection to the German-speaking
lands through study with Orlando di Lasso in the Bavarian Court in Munich.
During that time, the focus of European music shifted from Franco-Flemish
Renaissance polyphony toward the great age of Italian instrumental music.
Virtuosic works by Cesare and Priuli represent only a few of the countless
examples of the rise of the "Stylus Phantasticus" in all of Europe.
