April 4, 2003 Contact: MariaElena Tobon, Music Director, ext. 363 New York's Americas Society Presents Klezmer en Buenos Aires Season Opening Concert on Monday, September 22 - Family Concert on September 21 The Americas Society will present their 2003-2004 season opening concert, Klezmer en Buenos Aires on Monday, September 22 at 7:30 pm at the Americas Society, 680 Park Avenue, corner of 68th Street and Park Avenue in Manhattan. This program will also be offered as a family concert on Sunday, September 21, 3:00 PM at The Americas Society. Cesar Lerner on the piano, accordion and percussion and Marcelo Moguilevsky on the clarinet, saxophone, recorders and vocals will present a lively mix of Klezmer and Argentine folk music. The Americas Society's 2003-2004 season of Music of the Americas explores genres that began "in the streets" and were later transformed by conservatory-trained musicians, like Tango, Jazz, Cuban Danzones, among others. A series of videos from the Latin American Video Archives will be shown through out the season, each complimenting their respective concert. Tickets for the September 22 concert are General Admission $15 and Students & Seniors $10. Tickets for the September 21 Family Concert are $5. Adults must be accompanied by at least one child.
